prototype Airtrack Analysis tool
SHARE
Cirrus Managing Director Mr Peter Freed has today announced that Cirrus has been awarded a contract by RPDE to prototype an Air Track Analysis Tool.
"The Air Track Analysis Tool, or 'ATAT' processes very large archives of historical air track data to identify repeating patterns of aircraft behaviour, which then aid the classification of new air tracks in real time and contributes to the longer term intelligence analysis of air activity." Mr Freed stated."ATAT is based on techniques previously developed by Cirrus for sonar analysis of aircraft tracks, and the re-use of this technology for this new application validates Cirrus' strategy of long term investment in Research and Development"
The contract is occuring under the auspices of an RPDE task that is addressing "Air Battle Management supported by Tactical Data Mining."
RPDE is a defence industry collaboration that enhances ADF warfighting capacity through accelerated capability change in the Network Centric Warfare environment.
