Control Officer Simulation Trainer
SHARE
Cirrus Managing Director Mr. Peter Freed has announced that Cirrus has delivered a Helicopter Control Officer Simulation Trainer (HCOTS) to helicopter specialists Prism Defence under a contract awarded in July 2011.
The HCOTS is based on Cirrus’ Simulation Training Network and Sensor Simulation Engine (STN & SSE) technologies – these technologies have also provided the basis for the Cirrus Air Combat Officer Simulation Trainer (ACOTS) which Cirrus has supplied to the RAAF’s School of Air Warfare (SAW).
Under the arrangement with Prism Defence, Cirrus has supplied the HCOTS for use in training Helicopter Control Officers with a regional navy.
Mr Freed stated that "We are very pleased to have been engaged by Prism Defence, who are the recognised experts in naval rotary wing systems, and to have delivered the HCOTS solution for use in an export market. The maturity and flexibility of Cirrus’ simulation technologies enabled the very rapid and cost effective production of the HCOTS, and the use of HCOTS in an export market underscores the competitiveness of this Australian technology.”
