Cirrus Attains Authorised Engineering Organisation
Status for Air Combat Officer Training System

Cirrus Real Time Processing Systems Pty Ltd (“Cirrus”) Managing Director Mr. Peter Freed has announced that the Technical Airworthiness Regulator, Director General Technical Airworthiness (DGTA) -   Australian Defence Force  has issued a Letter of Engineering Authority (LEA) under which Cirrus becomes the Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) for the Air Combat Officer Training System (ACO-TS). 

As the AEO, Cirrus is entrusted to exercise engineering authority up to Design Approval for the ACO-TS .  

ACO-TS is operated by the School of Air Warfare (SAW, East Sale) within the King-Air B350 training aircraft and provides simulation based training of Air Combat Officers in the management of own ship’s mission using moving map displays, the collation of track feeds from on and off-board sensors, the compilation and management of the tactical picture, and the operation of radar, Electro-Optic and other sensors. 

The Cirrus ACO-TS is based on  Cirrus’ Simulation Training Network and Sensor Simulation Engine (STN & SSE) technologies. 

Mr Freed stated that "We are very pleased to act as the AEO in support of this complex system. The attainment of AEO underscores the robustness and maturity of Cirrus’ engineering processes and their suitability for managing highly complex aerospace software.”
